Walvin Constructions Pty Ltd commenced business in 1992, from a home office in the suburb of Bulimba, Brisbane. The main aim of the principal John Walvin was to create a business that would be exclusive in designing and renovation of traditional Queensland homes within the South-East Brisbane area.
Walvin Constructions incorporated in 1994 and now employs a staff of 10 forming the design, construction and administration team which operates out of a boutique office at Morningside. During John’s early years as a tradesman, he developed a passion for Queensland architecture and saw great opportunity in the restoration and renovation of these homes. His eye for detail and quality of workmanship is only surpassed by his commitment to providing the most professional service possible.
This has been recognised by winning nineteen renovation awards with both QLD Master Builders Association and Housing Industry Association in the last eight years, including the HIA Renovation/Additions Project Builder of 2005, the 2006 Queensland Professional Renovator Builder of the Year, Finalist in the 2007 HIA Australian Professional Renovator Builder of the Year and our latest achievement, being a Finalist in the 2008 HIA QLD Professional Renovator Builder of the Year.
At Walvin Constructions Pty Ltd we offer the complete package of Building services (e.g. design, drafting, engineering, surveying, town planning etc) which is rarely offered within the renovation market. With our innovative designs, driven by practical and cost effective building procedures, a comprehensive knowledge of each project is obtained prior to construction, ensuring a smooth and problem free renovation process, resulting in a high level of satisfaction from our clients as well as providing a strong referral base for future projects.
When the renovation project is complete, we provide our clients with a portfolio folder containing the relevant building approvals, all certificates, suppliers’ names and a list of the trade contractors that have worked on their projects for future reference. We further make contact with our clients three months after completion of their job as a follow up to ensure all is in order and reinforce our commitment and service.
Our business continues to be up there with the best due to continual research and analysis of our market trends. We hold regular management meetings to obtain the relevant information required to monitor our progress and implement changes to our system which is another key factor to our successful business.
As members of the Queensland Master Builders Association, Housing Industry Association and Building Designers Association of QLD, we have on hand many services to provide us with business guidance and advice if required, to provide expertise in many area’s such as contractual matters and work place health and safety to name a few.
We believe in offering the complete package of “concept to completion” with a high level of service and professionalism, which has also been outlined in our editorial featured in the QLD Homes Editorial Autumn 2007.
